This are used where the holes are used locating. Straight pin are not used since slight dimensional variation between holes it makes difficult to insert and remove the part. If tow holes are used for locating than one used straight and one is diamond pin. When pin locaters are used for alignment special bushes should be provide so pins can replace easily.

This pins having cross section like rhombic (diamond) this is used for easy loading and unloading the parts.

ØV ØV locaters

V locaters are mainly used for round work also locate flat work with cylindrical or angular ends. This is having centralizing feature is good advantage. The suitable angle for v is 90⁰ also 60⁰ and 120⁰ is used but satiability of component 90⁰ is preferred.

Ø ØAdjustable stop locaters

This is used to keep the cost minimum. If these is use position of body does not closely controlled for this use one adjustable and other are fixed locaters.

Ø ØNesting locaters

In this locaters nest the parts along contour and only work area should open. This is most accurate for profile locaters the most common type is ring nest which is normally used for cylindrical parts

Ø ØRest pads

Pads are flat component used as a base location. This is used locating the work peace in early stages of machining.

Ø ØProfile locaters

Profile locaters is used locating the work part form external profile or outside edge this is most common method for locating work .

The clamping is required holding the work in respective position in jigs also to hold the jigs to machine bade or surface clamp help in rapid loading or unloading work piece there are mainly tow type of clamping manual and power clamping the most common type of both clamping is
